Got my 4tb WD My Book External hard drive back in July of 2019. It's now Late May, 2020. Haven't had a single problem with it. Best buy didn't have what another store had to price match, so, they found this Western Digital in their store and dropped it to match the others price. Transfer rate is about 140mb ps. The device says ‘No media connected’. Please i would love to know what to do so make the TVs read the drive cause if it doesn’t it would mostly be a failure cause part of the reason why i bought the drive
You don’t need to remove or erase the WD software from the WD My Passport drive for your TV to recognize it. Be sure your WD My passport drive is formatted with FAT32 file system otherwise it will not recognize by the TV.
